TRACE Provides Solutions in Russian Aviation

June 1, 1999 - For Immediate Release

Changes in the Russian aviation industry have created demands for western products on Russian aircraft.  TRACE  Worldwide Corporation has combined its engineering and integration services and expertise in western aviation technologies with Russian industrial capability to provide product solutions for Russia's aviation industry.  These activities have resulted in millions of dollars in revenue for TRACE and its western and Russian partners, and forged solid alliances between Russian, US and European aviation companies.

TRACE has been working to develop strong customer relationships in Russia since 1990, when it opened its office in Moscow.  According to Irina Rabinovich, Director of CIS Business for TRACE, the company's strategy has been to carefully identify viable long term customers with critical aviation supply problems and bring then together with the appropriate Russian design bureaus, regulatory authorities, production plants and western manufacturers to develop real, affordable solutions.  "This has been a slow process of understanding the customer, its environment and needs, working together to find reasonable solutions, and doing what we say we will do", said Irina.

Offering in-house engineering and integration capability, TRACE and its partners in the US, Europe and Russia have been instrumental in getting many western products installed and certified on a variety of Russian aircraft.  Applications include FMS, TCAS, Nav/Comm and SatCom installations, passenger oxygen systems, cabin interior components and entertainment systems, aviation batteries, and aircraft cargo handling systems.  The company is currently working on numerous other systems.

Through its alliances, TRACE has helped to develop product applications on the Yakovlev YAK-40, YAK-42, Ilyushin IL-62, IL-76, IL-86, IL-96,IL-114, MIL Mi-8, Mi-17, Mi-26T, Tupolev TU-134 and TU-154 series aircraft.

TRACE Aircraft Completions Division, located at London's Biggin Hill Airport, has designed commercial, VIP and medical aircraft interiors for several Russian aircraft and helicopters, and has completed  - or is in the process of completing - VIP aircraft for the governments of Russia, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Ukraine, and for Russian industrial giants Gazprom and Lukoil.

TRACE offices are generally staffed by nationals of the countries in which they work. With extensive technical and international business backgrounds, they are thoroughly at home with the language, culture, business practices and political climates of their regions. An established local presence, technical expertise and strong relationships with customers give TRACE an edge in identifying and gaining access to viable new business opportunities.
