Press Release 6 October 1997
TRACE to offer Air Methods Helicopter Interiors TRACE Worldwide Ltd. will be acting as one of the completion centers trained and available for the installation and support of the Air Methods Products Division's range of
medical interiors and systems for helicopters and fixed wing aircraft. The work will be carried out at TRACE's recently acquired completion center at London's Biggin Hill Airport. For over 18 years, Denver Colorado based
Air Methods has specialized in the design, manufacture, and installation of medical interiors, modular-multifunctional products, and multi-mission systems, for civil EMS (Emergency Medical Services) and military casevac (casualty
evacuation) helicopters. In both the civil and military sectors, the ability to treat a casualty within the critical "Golden Hour" is widely regarded to be essential and to this end Air Methods has developed a number of
installations specifically tailored to ambulance helicopter requirements. A major feature of the designs is the ability to achieve rapid installation of the medical facility. The patented Articulating Patient Loading System
(APLS) weighing only 27 kg, permits "below waist" loading outside the aircraft and maximum patient care by providing excellent patient access and shock/anti-shock capability. The compact Modular Medical Cabinet (MMC) provides
a single location for all the medial systems required to administer critical care treatment for two patients. The Multifunctional Floor (MFF) preserves aircraft utility and value while providing unparalleled multi-mission
flexibility. These new modular systems along with Air Methods established state-of-the-art systems are among the items used in over 50 interiors developed by Air Methods. Air Methods has also designed and manufactured the
Multi-Mission MEDEVAC interior for the US Army UH-60Q. This interior is designed to maximize the helicopter's capability by converting mission configurations from litter transport to personnel transport to cargo transport in
less than 2 minutes without removing any equipment. The projected US Army requirement for the UH-60Q is approximately 350 units over the next 10 years. In addition, this system is applicable to many foreign military
services where the UK-60 and other similarly configured aircraft (both rotary and fixed wing) are widely used. Air Methods is a leading provider of emergency air medical transportation systems and services to hospitals throughout
the United States. Air Methods also manufactures state-of-the-art medical interiors for civilian, military and international organizations. TRACE Worldwide is a leader in the field of project management and
technical services, with extensive capability in interior design and completion for both rotary and fixed wing aircraft. Although specializing in VIP and executive completions, the steady growth in EMS activity both in the UK
and elsewhere is perceived to provide the company with an opportunity to apply its expertise in this sphere.
