JUNE, 1999: TRACE PROVIDES SOLUTIONS IN RUSSIAN AVIATION
TRACE Provides Solutions in Russian Aviation
June 1, 1999 - For Immediate Release
Changes in the Russian aviation industry have created demands for western products on Russian aircraft. TRACE Worldwide Corporation has combined its engineering and integration services and expertise in western aviation technologies with Russian industrial capability to provide product solutions for Russia's aviation industry. These activities have resulted in millions of dollars in revenue for TRACE and its western and Russian partners, and forged solid alliances between Russian, US and European aviation companies.
TRACE has been working to develop strong customer relationships in Russia since 1990, when it opened its office in Moscow. According to Irina Rabinovich, Director of CIS Business for TRACE, the company's strategy has been to carefully identify viable long term customers with critical aviation supply problems and bring then together with the appropriate Russian design bureaus, regulatory authorities, production plants and western manufacturers to develop real, affordable solutions. "This has been a slow process of understanding the customer, its environment and needs, working together to find reasonable solutions, and doing what we say we will do", said Irina.
Offering in-house engineering and integration capability, TRACE and its partners in the US, Europe and Russia have been instrumental in getting many western products installed and certified on a variety of Russian aircraft. Applications include FMS, TCAS, Nav/Comm and SatCom installations, passenger oxygen systems, cabin interior components and entertainment systems, aviation batteries, and aircraft cargo handling systems. The company is currently working on numerous other systems.
Through its alliances, TRACE has helped to develop product applications on the Yakovlev YAK-40, YAK-42, Ilyushin IL-62, IL-76, IL-86, IL-96,IL-114, MIL Mi-8, Mi-17, Mi-26T, Tupolev TU-134 and TU-154 series aircraft.
TRACE Aircraft Completions Division, located at London's Biggin Hill Airport, has designed commercial, VIP and medical aircraft interiors for several Russian aircraft and helicopters, and has completed - or is in the process of completing - VIP aircraft for the governments of Russia, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Ukraine, and for Russian industrial giants Gazprom and Lukoil.
TRACE offices are generally staffed by nationals of the countries in which they work. With extensive technical and international business backgrounds, they are thoroughly at home with the language, culture, business practices and political climates of their regions. MAY, 1998: TRACE PROVIDES AIRBUS OVERHIGHT VIP CONVERSION
TRACE PROVIDES AIRBUS OVERNIGHT VIP CONVERSION
The overnight conversion of Airbus aircraft from business class configuration to a VIP interior found only in the best appointed executive jets is now possible thanks to a new modular concept designed and produced by French designer, Jacques Pierrejean and TRACE Worldwide. The conversion kit can be carried in the aircraft's hold, enabling on-site role changes to be effected. The development is seen as a significant advance in operators' asset utilization.
TRACE's Biggin Hill based completions centre has just installed the first such conversion in an Airbus A310. The contract followed extensive talks between TRACE and Airbus Industrie concerning the development of a quick change kit to adapt aircraft to a variety of roles, including head of state and flying hospital.
The VIP interior, which TRACE believes to be the most "presidential" on the market, can be configured to provide a variety of facilities. Options include two/four luxury seat and table combinations, divans which convert into beds, wardrobes and bars. All fixtures are mounted on stressed pallets which are secured to the aircraft's existing seat track. This modular approach has not inhibited the visual appeal or functionality of the interior, which features a maple burl finish.
TRACE has modified an LD6 cargo container to enable the aircraft to carry the VIP conversion kit or the business class seating, depending on which is in use at the time. The company is providing full training and spares support for the operator.
Steve Brenchley, General Manager of TRACE Aircraft Completions said "This new concept opens up all sorts of opportunities in terms of aircraft utilization. Our product is very competitively priced and we are looking to generate further sales around the world".
